Our annual 2009 pilgrimage took place on August 14th and took the form of a treasure hunt round some of our old churches. We began the day with a pilgrimage blessing at St Mary Magdalene in Wiston. The clues took us round the church to find many hidden treasures and then to the churchyard and the nearby castle ruins.

The pilgrims continued on to St Peter's church at Little Newcastle Where the treasure hunt took us round the village green before entering the church. This gave us a glimpse of the history of the area as well as that of the church. A simple lunch was kindly provided by the ladies of the parish and provided the opportunity of fellowship with our fellow pilgrims.

The final hunt for treasures, took place after a walk to St Justinian's church at Llanstinan, which despite the best efforts of the wardens , is falling into disrepair and is in need of assistance. The hunt showed some of the historic features of this lovely, very special old church.

A welcome cup of tea was enjoyed at Treasury Cottage St Davids before taking part in a pilgrimage evensong in the Cathedral ,taken by the dean, the Rev Johnathon Lean . Despite the inclement weather, it was a day enjoyed by all who took part.
